M&C Property is seeking a skilled and driven Financial Controller to join the business on a fixed-term contract from October 2026 to September 2027.


Reporting to the Managing Director, the Financial Controller will take ownership of the financial management and reporting across the group during the maternity leave period. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial activities of the group companies, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making.


This is a key role within the business, responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial information while managing internal and external relationships, ensuring continuity and support across the finance function throughout the contract period. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting:Prepare and consolidate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the group companies. Full ownership of group reporting, providing clear and insightful analysis to senior management.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Preparation of budgets & cashflow forecasts and monitor financial performance against these benchmarks.

  • Cash Flow Management:Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring sufficient funds for operational needs.

  • Compliance:Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, PSRA and company policies.

  • Audit:Coordinate and manage internal and external audits, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up to date.

  • Financial Analysis:Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

  • Intercompany Transactions:Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances.

  • People Management:Act as the key finance contact for department managers, supporting them with budgeting, expenditure tracking, and financial decision-making.  


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).

  • Proven experience in a similar group accounting role, ideally within property, real estate, or related sectors.

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and excellent attention to detail.

  • Proactive and confident communicator, capable of building effective relationships with internal teams and external partners.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills
